Why ¡Lotería!?

The Lotería is a traditional Mexican board game with a colonial origin, very similar to bingo but you can only win when you fill your entire board and shout out loud to everyone ¡Lotería! Instead of completing numbers,  the cells you must complete contain images that reflect many of the Mexican beliefs, customs and traditions. It is played at some family parties or popular fairs, and skilled singers (who read cards out loud to all players and sometimes they create little poems with them) can say the name of the card along with a short poem that describes it.
